5 Must-Try Signature Cocktails
Singapore Cocktail Week has just come to an end, and hopefully everyone had a great time testing and discovering new cocktails. But there is even more. As cocktails have become immensely popular (rightly so), one can get signature drinks at many other outlets. Here are a few signature cocktails that you probably didn’t know, but must try.
63Sangria – 63 Celsius
Even if you don’t like the ordinary sangria, you might be interested in the signature version at 63 Celsius. Besides red wine and vodka, the drink is spiced up with Cointreau and cognac as well as topped up with sprite, dry figs, raisons, and mixed spices. Located at Marina View, this bar offers their signature cocktail for a mere $15.
Babette – Babette
This stylish Jalan Besar hangout has been around longer than most bars in the area. Considering that they only opened two years ago, one can see how quickly the neighbourhood transformed. Babette offers a variety of signature drinks, most of which are film related. One of our favourite ones is the Babette itself. Fuelled with gin, passion fruit and mint leaves, this drink is a welcoming refreshment after a long work day.
The Roque – Bar-Roque Grill
Here comes even more passion fruit, as the Rogue signature drink includes Jameson, Midori, Kahlua, ginger ale, and passion fruit. Located on Tanjong Pagar Road, the Bar-Roque Grill specialises in European grill dishes, offering a modern and casual dining ambiance. Personally I enjoy the atmosphere there, as one can really unwind with friends and a proper meal. If you have a thing for grilled meats, you will probably come regularly.
Chocolate Bacon – Da Paolo BistroBar
All the way out at Rochester Park is Da Paolo BistroBar, offering a comfortable al fresco setting and lush greens. Besides pizzas with attitude and substantial burgers, one can enjoy a large range of refreshing and exciting cocktails. Our recommendation is the Chocolate Bacon, which includes cream de cacao, kirsch, Averna Amora, Angostura bitters, and bacon infused bourbon. The unusual combination of bitters and cacao is well balanced and not too sweet at all, but has a subtle cacao taste.
Tiramisu Martini – Jamie’s Italian Forum
If you are a fan of this British celebrity chef, then you probably know their signature cocktails already. If you don’t and love desserts, then you really should try the Tiramisu Martini. Ordering this drink, you can easily skip the dessert. Look forward to all the elements and flavours you would expect in an ordinary Tiramisu as well. This alcoholic combination is definitely a must-try signature cocktail.
