At Starbucks, we relentlessly search the world for the best coffees to create truly one-of-a-kind experiences. Every so often, we find something special in the most unlikely places – something we can't wait to bring home and share.

For these unique, small-lot coffees, we created Starbucks Reserve™, an ongoing series of our rarest and most exotic coffees. Now, we bring you a very special coffee – quite possibly one of the world’s finest. Introducing, Starbucks Reserve™ Hawaii Ka’u.

On the south side of Hawaii’s Big Island, it is home to the remote district of Ka’u. After the last sugar plantation closed in 1996, farmers looked to coffee as a new source of livelihood. Despite ideal growing conditions, they initially struggled to step out of the shadow of their well-established neighbor, Kona.

The tide shifted in 2007 when two Ka’u coffees placed in the top ten at a global cupping competition. Inspired by the results, Chris Manfredi (president of the Hawaii Coffee Association), hired agronomists and consultants to help small-scale farms succeed. Eleven years and many more awards later, Hawaii Ka’u is a coveted micro-origin with a thriving coffee community.

We’re proud to share the spirit of aloha with this rare, small-lot coffee. Join us in our journey through Hawaii’s Big Island and experience coffee like you’ve never had.

Be treated to a 90-min sensory experience with the newly crowned winner and finalists at the recent Starbucks Regional Barista Championship. You’ll get to indulge in a special handcrafted beverage that’s created just for this seminar. Plus, take home a Starbucks goodie bag (worth $157.90), which comes with a bag of coffee beans (250g) and French press. Other surprises await you, at this exclusive seminar.
